Here
is a side view of the seat lug cluster. This is a Henry James seat lug as you can tell by
the sharp tip. However, the area around the binder bolt was filled in and hand filed to
get the final shape that you see. The entire joint is silver brazed. The bridge in the
lower left-hand corner is the brake cable stop. This is threaded for a barrel adjuster. Note how the seat stays are mitered to fit against the side of the seat tube lug. This is a challenging miter since it is a compound miter and both side must be the same. All done by hand. This frame uses top tube cable guide instead of cable stops. |
